ICMUB is a research institute of the University of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, focusing on (i) the synthesis of carbon-, nitrogen- and phosphorus-based ligands; (ii) the coordination chemistry with main-group, d- and f-bloc metals; (iii) the physicochemical characterization in solution from a structural, themodynamic, and kinetic point of view; (iv) finding applications in organometallic chemistry, catalysis , medical imaging, material sciences, and hydrometallurgy. In this latter field, our goals are to synthesize new robust and economically viable, lipophilic and ionizable extracting agents but also to determine the speciation of the metals of interest in both the aqueous feed solution as well as in the organic phase by combining a range a spectroscopic methods (UV-vis-NIR, Raman, IR, fluorimetry, EPR, NMR, high-resolution ESI-MS) with calorimetry, ICP-AES and ICP-MS.
