Postdoctoral Position

Project DECAP, Hydrogel from biocompatible polymers for actinide decontamination

Université de Montpellier, Département « Biopolymères Artificiels », Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron (UMR 5247), France

Project duration :15 mois

Starting date : mars/avril 2019

Project :

The project DECAP is focused on the development of innovative hydrogels prepared from polymeric materials for external actinide decontamination. The objective is to prepare new chelating macromolecules able to complex radionuclides with the controlled synthesis of complexing copolymers. This multidisciplinary project is going from synthesis and polymerization of functional monomers to the biological study of formulations, along with complexation studies.

The research location is in the pôle chimie Balard de Montpellier (IBMM et ICGM). However, this project is based on a consortium between the "Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron" (IBMM) and the "Institut Charles Gerhardt" (ICG) de Montpellier, the "Institut de Chimie Séparative de Marcoule" (ICSM) and the "Institut Galien Paris-Sud" (IGPS).

Profile :

The candidate to be recruited should have a good organic and polymer chemistry background. For this reason, she/he should have received her/his PhD in the field of organic chemistry or polymers chemistry.
